As we return to campuses and resume our good work, let's remember what we've learned about ourselves and the nature of our work during this ongoing pandemic. Many of you might be addressing cultural norms or a new hybrid work arrangement for yourself or your staff. I wanted to share this valuable article titled, "Getting Hybrid Right" by Janet Ahn, published last month in the Chief Learning Officer digest. I found this phrase incredibly poignant: "...culture was never in your building..." It's so very true. Culture exists between your colleagues and is nurtured through trust, being able to adapt, remaining open to change and by emphasizing accountability, A good start to establishing the hybrid work parameters might be to openly define what your purpose is as a team- what's a priority, what do you need to accomplish your goals in a timely manner and what does that communication structure look like. You may end up having a lot more targeted, quick meetings and that's ok! There is no handbook on working in 2021, but we are all making it work. Use the CPD as a resource as well - we encourage you to take a look at our upcoming course offerings and to let us know if you have a special request that we can assist with. We are here for you! Don't forget that you can also use your CPD General Points for SUNY SAIL programming! SAIL's registration for their upcoming Resilience Series: Empowering Change Leaders program is currently open, with the program starting October 25.
